How to use OBS mode on the Garmin 530 GPS

Using OBS mode  on the GPS can be a handy tool. For example, if you are unfamiliar with an airport and want to intercept a mid-field, downwind, base leg, or final leg track. It can also be very handy at night for intercepting track when visibility is low. OBS mode on the Garmin GPS allows you to create virtual VOR stations that can help you set the direction of the aircraft up early and stay ahead of the plane.

Here is a a video we created trying to help pilots with the use of OBS mode on Garmin GPS’. We use a Garmin 530, but the process is likely similar on other Garmin units. Please leave your {positive} comments below.
